I used to be a stained glass artist and enjoyed years of making beautiful pieces, but my lungs prevent me from working with aerosolized lead and flux. This is where quilling filled an an otherwise indelible void. I found painting: oil and acrylics to be too flat. I like the texture that glass provided and have found ways to add lots of depth and texture to my quilling pieces.
A side note: The dictionary will say that quilling is misspelled, but I promise it is not. This art goes back to the nuns in the 15th century. They would take old gilded books and pages and cut them into strips and use those strips to decorate the outside of other books and journals.
I do sell my work, but mostly, I teach it. I find that my satisfaction is not derived from what I sell, but whom I get to teach and in helping them find a new passion.

This is an affordable and portable art that can be very environmentally friendly. This is especially true, if you get into making your own paper. Do not let this art fool you. This is yet another hobby that you might follow down a rabbit hole, but it will be a great adventure that is worth it!
I also teach Meditation, Healing and Mediumship. I have been teaching arts and meditation since 2004. I have taught Stained Glass as far away as Hawaii and I have traveled across New England to teach Meditation, Healing and Mediumship.
If you are a purveyor of OLD Gilded Books, Enjoy hours of sitting and creating artistic works of art or just enjoy making holiday cards, this is a hobby you will cherish!
